China’s consumer industry registered a 24.0% rise in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 3.77% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.01% share in August 2022, recording an increase of 0.84% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in China’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.05% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s consumer industry in August 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 61.14% in August 2022, registering a 138.89% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 26.07% share, an increase of 129.17% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 4.74%, registering a 100% rise from July 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 4.27%, up 12.5% over the previous month.

Top five consumer companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 215% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s consumer industry during August 2022 over July 2022.

Hisense Visual Technology posted 78 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Haier Group with 72 jobs and a 20% growth. Midea Group with 30 IT jobs and Anheuser-Busch InBev with 5 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while New Hope Dairy recorded a flat growth with 4 job postings during August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 81.04%, up by 131.08% from July 2022. Entry Level positions with a 9.48% share, registered an increase of 400% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 9% share, up 11.76% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.47%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
