China’s consumer industry registered a 5.1% drop in IT hiring activity in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 3.18% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.
Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.78% share in September 2022, recording an increase of 0.45% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in China’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.96% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s consumer industry in September 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 70.83% in September 2022, registering a 47.69% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 15.63% share, a decrease of 73.21% over the previous month.
3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 5.21%, registering a 44.44% decline from August 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 5.21%, down 16.67% over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 23.42% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s consumer industry during September 2022 over August 2022.
Haier Group posted 68 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a drop of 5.56% over the previous month, followed by Midea Group with 6 jobs and an 80.65% drop. Gree Electric Appliancesof Zhuhai with 5 IT jobs and Jason Furniture Hangzhou with 3 jobs, recorded a 66.67% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Shenzhen MTC recorded an increase of 50% with 3 job postings during September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 83.33%, down by 53.76% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 9.38% share, registered a decline of 52.63% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 5.21% share, down 76.19% over August 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.08%, recording a month-on-month increase of 100%.
