Canada’s consumer industry registered a 10.3% rise in IT hiring activity in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 7.05% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.
Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.11% share in September 2022, recording a decrease of 0.08% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Canada’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s consumer industry in September 2022.
1) Computer and Information Analysts recorded a share of 65.85% in September 2022, registering a 58.82% growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 13.41% share, an increase of 175% over the previous month.
3) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers held a share of 12.2%, registering a 9.09% decline from August 2022.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 6.1%, flat growth over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in Canada’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 56.76% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s consumer industry during September 2022 over August 2022.
LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton posted 24 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a rise of 100% over the previous month, followed by The Body Shop International with 22 jobs and a 29.41% growth. Nestle with 6 IT jobs and HelloFresh with 3 jobs, recorded a 200% growth and a 50% decrease, respectively, while Agropur cooperative recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 51.22%, up by 44.83% from August 2022. Entry Level positions with a 42.68% share, registered an increase of 105.88% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 6.1% share, up 25% over August 2022.
