The proportion of drinks manufacturing and supply companies hiring for industrial automation-related positions rose significantly last month, according to recent research, with almost 82% recruiting for at least one position in the area.

The figure, which features in GlobalData’s latest analysis, is higher than the near-57% of companies who were looking to fill industrial automation vacancies in October 2020. In the month-prior this year, the number approached 76%.

Of all advertised vacancies in the beverage industry in October, 4.4% were linked to industrial automation, a slight lift on the 4.2% proportion in the same month a year ago.

The analysis shows that drinks manufacturing and supply companies are hiring for industrial automation jobs at a rate lower than the average for all companies within GlobalData's job analytics database. The average among all companies last month stood at 5.8%.
