On Thursday, Coca-Cola European Partners will report its results for 2017 and Q4. Here, just-drinks takes a closer look at the soft drinks company’s performance in three months to the end of last year.
- At the start of October, CCEP increased its sustainability commitment when it handed out hundreds of refillable bottles – complete with tracking chips – to UK students. The scheme aims to reduce packaging waste, a hot topic for the beverage industry.
- In the same month, CCEP reportedly reaffirmed its commitment to a UK bottle deposit scheme, as long as it was a “well-designed system that works for everybody”.
- A few days later the company announced plans to shed 128 posts across its five bottling plants in France over the coming year.
- In an exclusive interview with just-drinks in November, CCEP outlined its sustainability plans as the wider Coca-Cola network prepared to launch a global initiative on recycling and waste. A CCEP executive said he wanted the beverage industry to follow Coca-Cola’s lead in sustainability.
