The proportion of drinks manufacturing and supply companies hiring for ‘Internet of Things’-related positions rose last month, according to recent research, with 15.2% recruiting for at least one position in the area.

The figure, which features in GlobalData’s latest analysis, represents an increase on the 12.9% of companies who were hiring for Internet of Things jobs a year ago. In October this year, the number was 18.2%.

Of all advertised vacancies in the beverage industry in November, 0.2% were linked to Internet of Things, the lowest level in 2021 and down on the 0.3% proportion in the same month last year.

The analysis shows that beverage companies are hiring for IoT jobs at a rate lower than the average for all companies within GlobalData's job analytics database. The average among all companies stood at 0.7% in November 2021.
