The proportion of beverage manufacturing and supply companies hiring for cybersecurity-related positions in August declined on the month prior, with 33.3% of the companies included in GlobalData’s analysis recruiting for at least one such vacancy.

This latest figure was lower than the 40% of drinks companies hiring for cybersecurity jobs in July, but up on 28% in the corresponding month a year earlier.

 

 

Of the total number of vacancies posted by beverage companies in August, 0.4% were linked to cybersecurity. This represented the highest monthly proportion in the past year and a rise on the 0.2% proportion in the same month in 2020.

 

Cybersecurity is one of the topics that GlobalData has identified as a key disruptive force facing companies in the coming years. Companies that invest in such areas now are expected to be better prepared for the future business landscape and better equipped to survive unforeseen challenges.

An analysis of the data shows that drinks manufacturing and supply companies are currently hiring for cybersecurity jobs at a lower rate lower compared to the average for all companies within GlobalData's job analytics database. The average among all companies in August stood at 1.5%.
