GoerTek. has filed a patent for a sound generating device module. The module includes a housing with a cavity, a frame fixed in the cavity, and high-pitch and low-pitch sound generating units on opposite sides of the frame. A baffle plate and the housing create a side sound output port for the high-pitch unit. The module also forms a front sound output structure for the low-pitch unit. The frame and housing create separate rear sound cavities for each unit. GlobalData’s report on GoerTek gives a 360-degree view of the company including its patenting strategy. Buy the report here.

A recently filed patent (Publication Number: US20230319481A1) describes a sound generating device module that includes a housing with a cavity and a fixed frame within the cavity. The module features a high-pitch sound generating unit and a low-pitch sound generating unit on opposite sides of the frame. A baffle plate is provided on the housing corresponding to the high-pitch sound generating unit, creating a side sound output port. The module also forms a front sound output structure for the low-pitch sound generating unit. The frame and housing create two rear sound cavities, one connected to the low-pitch sound generating unit and the other to the high-pitch sound generating unit.

The frame in the sound generating device module bends and extends towards the opposite direction of the baffle plate, forming a first accommodation groove. The low-pitch sound generating unit is partially located in this groove. Additionally, a through hole in the frame creates a second accommodation groove, where a portion of the high-pitch sound generating unit is placed. A partition plate separates the cavity, forming the two rear sound cavities.

The low-pitch sound generating unit consists of a magnet, coil, and diaphragm, while the high-pitch sound generating unit includes a magnet, coil, and diaphragm as well. The diaphragms cover sound output holes on the housing, with the first diaphragm having a larger area than the second diaphragm. Stiffening plates are fixed on both diaphragms.

In an alternative embodiment, the frame bends and extends in the opposite direction of the baffle plate, forming a third accommodation groove for the low-pitch sound generating unit. The high-pitch sound generating unit is placed in this groove by penetrating a mounting hole in the frame. A partition plate separates the cavity, creating the two rear sound cavities.

The low-pitch sound generating unit in this embodiment includes a magnet, coil, and diaphragm, while the high-pitch sound generating unit consists of a magnet, coil, and diaphragm as well. The diaphragms cover sound output holes on the housing, with the third diaphragm having a larger area than the fourth diaphragm.

Overall, this patent describes a sound generating device module with separate sound output structures for high-pitch and low-pitch sound generating units, as well as isolated rear sound cavities. The design allows for improved sound quality and performance.
