Management Occupations drive consumer hiring activity

Management Occupations, with a share of 12% new job postings, was the occupation with the greatest hiring activity in the European consumer industry in Q1 2023 , ahead of Business and Financial Operations Occupations with a 6% share of new job postings.

The other prominent roles included Office and Administrative Support Occupations with a 5% share in Q1 2023, Computer and Mathematical Occupations with a 4% share and Sales and Related Occupations with a 4% share of new job postings.

Top five companies accounted for 32% of hiring activity

Givaudan posted 4,682 jobs in Q1 2023 and registered a growth of 147% over the previous quarter, followed by Grupa Zywiec with 4,273 jobs and a 1% growth. LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, with 3,626 jobs, and Estee Lauder, with 3,368 jobs, recorded a 77% rise and a 183% rise, respectively, while Cherkizovo Group recorded a 11% increase with a 2,349 new job postings during Q1 2023.

Regional analysis of hiring in the European consumer industry, Q1 2023

France held the leading share of the European consumer hiring activity with an 18.45% share, a 6% decrease over Q4 2022. Germany was next with 14.76%, four-percentage-point down over the previous quarter.
