The executive director of the Australian Citrus Growers, Judith Damiani, was sanguine about the ACCC’s findings. “I think it really comes down to making the consumer aware of what they’re purchasing and hopefully they can make a more informed purchase,” she said, adding that consumers may now be encouraged to buy more fresh products which are more profitable for Australian growers. Much of the juice concentrate used in Australian juice products is imported from other fruit-producing countries like Brazil.

Australian watchdog, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), is ordering the country's fruit juice producers to be more precise in their labeling of their products. An ACCC investigation revealed that products made from juice concentrate are being labeled as "100% juice" which was potentially misleading and deceptive for consumers.
