Justerini & Brooks is set to add Californian winery Frog’s Leap to its US wine sales portfolio in the UK.
The London-based wine and spirits merchant, which is owned by Diageo, confirmed today plans to supply the UK’s on and off-premise with Frog’s Leap’s wines starting this month. The range comprises a Cabernet Savignon 2017, Merlot 2018, Zinfandel 2018, Chardonnay ‘Shale And Stone’ 2018 and Sauvignon Blanc 2019.
Founded in 1981, Frog’s Leap, which already sells into the UK, joins Justerini & Brooks’ California stable that includes Cain Cellars, Di Costanzo and Heitz Cellar wineries.
“The Frog’s Leap ideals chime with our philosophy – they really do take an holistic approach to winemaking,” said Justerini & Brooks’ California buyer, Julian Campbell. “These are really well-made, drinkable and age-worthy wines at a reasonable price.”
Justerini & Brooks survived Diageo’s divestment of a significant portion of its non-core assets in 2015 that included the offloading of the Gleneagles hotel and golf resort to real estate hospitality firm Ennismore and the bulk of its wine operations, including Blossom Hill, to Treasury Wine Estates as part of its exit from the category.
