Oettinger Getränke is looking for a new CEO after the exit of Thilo Pomykala just three months after taking charge.

In a statement yesterday (20 July), the German brewer said the departure came by “mutual agreement”.

According to the family-owned business, the end of Pomykala's brief tenure came after differences over the company’s “future strategic direction”.

Oettinger said both parties concluded that replacing the leadership was the “appropriate” move to support the company’s development.

Majority shareholder Pia Kollmar said: "I regret this development and would like to thank Mr. Pomykala for the collaboration and the impetus he provided."

Pomykala took on the top job in April, taking over from Stefan Blaschak, who resigned in November.

Two months earlier, Oettinger announced Kollmar has returned to the company's executive board to "assume responsibility for finance and strategy".

Kollmar had last been on Oettinger's management board in 2022 but had moved to the group's advisory board.

Before moving to Oettinger, Pomykala spent more than six years at German dairy group Hochwald as managing director.

Earlier in his career, he was on the executive board of spirits company Underberg and led sales, marketing and product development at dairy group Meggle.

Oettinger describes itself as one of Germany’s largest drinks producers and employs around 700 people.
