Riojan wine is set to gain from a €3m promotional budget to boost sales, primarily abroad, after the regional government of La Rioja,  allocated €210,000 in subsidies.


A report in the Spanish News Digest said the subsidy was granted under an agreement signed between the regional minister of agriculture, Javier Erro, and the president of the
Regulatory Council of the Rioja Designation of Origin, Angel de Jaime Baro.
Promotional events will now follow in Germany, the UK, Denmark and Mexico.


The report said that the regional government of Navarre had also allocated a €30,000 subsidy.
