According to data released by the State Statistics Committee, wine output in Russia rose by 15.6% in 2002 to 325m litres. Sparkling wine production rose by 6% to 81m litres.

The State Statistics Committee also reported that the Russian wine industry produced 26.2m litres of brandy in 2002, up 27.4% from 2001.
