Mossburn Distillers has launched a new Scotch whisky brand.

The two-strong Caisteal Chamuis range comprises a Bourbon Barrelled and a 12-Year-Old Sherry-Barrelled blended malt, the latter of which has been aged in ex-Oloroso Sherry butts. The company said that the pair are available from selected retailers and online in 15 international markets including the UK, France and Germany.

Both will be released in the US next year.

“In Caisteal Chamuis, we have created a mystifying whisky from the Hebrides, celebrating the life and lore of a past that might have been at the castle,” said Mossburn’s global brand director, Rick Bennett-Baggs. “While the story may be mysterious, enjoying a good quality, peated malt whisky shouldn’t be, as we seek to transport drinkers and welcome them to the misty isles of the Hebrides.”

Earlier this week, Diageo revealed Johnnie Walker High Rye – a blend of single malts from the brand’s Black Label flavour profile including Cardhu, Glenkinchie and Caol Ila.
