Global sales of mixed flavour, HPP (high-pressure processed) and cold-press juice products are increasing in an otherwise declining juice market, according to recent research from Canadean, with a combination of increased health awareness among Western consumers and the exploding demand for juice in emerging markets driving the segments' performances.

Consumers have in recent years started to favour premium juices with mixed flavours over historically-popular single flavours such as orange and apple. Canadean’s research estimates that global sales of orange and apple juice declined by around 500m litres between 2013 and 2014 to under 12bn litres. This compares with more than 13.5bn litres of combined global sales as recently as 2009.
