Keurig Dr Pepper has lined up a change of CEO with current CFO & president of 'International' Ozan Dokmecioglu set to take up the reins. Outgoing CEO Bob Gamgort will continue as executive chair for two years to “support the transition”, the soft drinks group confirmed earlier this week. The switch will take effect at the end of July. Gamgort transitioned to Keurig Dr Pepper following the 'merger' of Dr Pepper Snapple Group and Keurig Green Mountain in 2018. Both Gamgort and Dokmecioglu worked for KGM prior to the transaction, which saw KGM pay almost US$19bn for the Dr Pepper and Snapple brand owner. The recruitment process for a new CFO is now underway. "We are pleased to appoint Ozan as our next CEO after a thorough succession planning process, including the consideration of internal and external candidates," said lead independent director Paul Michaels. "Ozan is an exceptionally strong leader with the skills, experience, values and perspective to lead KDP into the future. We are also fortunate to have Bob in a position to continue working closely with Ozan and the leadership team over the next few years." Last year, Gamgort admitted he had "no idea" what was causing record-high employee shortages in the US at the time. The deficit was “something that none of us have seen in our career”, he said.
