Anti-war protests have forced Coca-Cola to close a water bottling plant in Sattupalli in the Khammam district of southern India, according to a report from Agence-France-Presse.

“We are shut today (Friday) because the whole area is shut down by some other protests,” said Coca-Cola India’s Vijay Bhasker Reddy. “Meanwhile, we are watching the situation and will see when it’s safe to reopen.” The plant is 250 kms (155 miles) north of Hyderabad, the capital of Andhra Pradesh state.

The forced closure follows the destruction of Coca-Cola stock and an attack on a Pepsi warehouse in Andhra Pradesh at the weekend.
