Halewood Artisanal Spirits has announced the international roll-out of its Aber Falls Welsh whisky brand. The UK-based company has begun a “phased expansion plan” that will see its Welsh single malt available in around ten markets including Australia, Germany, Denmark, and Canada. As part of the move, Aber Falls will educate importers and retailers about the Welsh whisky category and the brand’s vision for the future, Halewood said. “Aber Falls is the first whisky distillery in North Wales for more than 100 years, and we plan to be here for the next 100 years, too,” said Aber Falls MD James Wright. “This expansion is a long-term strategy for years to come - not months - to see international growth for our brand, as well as an opportunity to promote brand Wales and all it has to offer to key markets around the world.” Halewood released Aber Falls’ inaugural whisky expression in May 2021, following it up with a subsequent single malt bottling in August last year. Located in north Wales, Aber Falls is a relatively new distillery. Halewood first confirmed plans to open the facility in January 2017.
