Jorge Grosse, the CEO of Sherry and Spanish wine producer González Byass, is to leave his role next year.
César Sánchez Moral, the chief executive of Spanish winery Barón de Ley, will succeed Grosse, who has spent 16 years at González Byass.

González Byass described Grosse’s departure as “mutually agreed”. In 2016, Grosse and the company’s board decided he would lead its next two strategic plans. During this time, he pushed the group through a period of digitisation and global expansion, the group said.
Over the last 16 years, Grosse has expanded the group globally to its current state of three distilleries, 14 wineries and in-house distribution operations in the UK, USA, Spain and Mexico.
Under Grosse’s leadership, González Byass achieved its highest fiscal turnover of EUR309m (US$322m) in 2019. “Within the first six months of the current fiscal year,
the results have been similar to those prior to the pandemic,” González Byass said in a statement.
Before taking the CEO role at Barón de Ley, Moral previously worked with Heineken and Japanese beverage group Suntory.
