UK-based Distil has joined the ‘botanical vodka’ trend in its home market through the three-strong Trøve brand.

The company, which also owns the Blackwoods, Blavod Black and Diva vodka brands, is rolling out the range this month. Trøve has been created in partnership with distiller Sion Edwards, who founded the Warner gin brand.

The line comprises:

  • Valencian Orange with Lime
  • Raspberry with Lemongrass and Mint
  • Green Apple with Ginger

“We believe consumers are looking for brands that allow them to make better choices without compromising on flavour,” said Distil’s marketing & operations director, Kate Alexander. “Post-COVID in particular, consumers want to live healthier, more balanced lifestyles, but that doesn’t mean that they want to be teetotal.

“We’re confident that the brand will tick a lot of boxes for shifting consumer attitudes.”

Almost three years to the day, Diageo released the Botanicals brand extension from Ketel One vodka. The range has capitalised on the ongoing demand among consumers for lower-abv and -calorie vodka options.
