Distell has launched a new single malt from its Bunnahabhain Scotch whisky brand.

Bunnahabhain Cask Strength 12 Year Old 2021 is the first in what the brand owner said today will be an annual release from a collection named ‘Warehouse 9’. From 18 November, the debut bottling will be available from selected retailers in Switzerland, the US, Australia, Taiwan, China, UK, Bulgaria, Canada and Germany.

The expression comes from the Bunnahabhain distillery on the north-eastern coast of Islay.

“When people embark on a journey to Islay and try our whiskies straight from the cask, it creates so much joy,” said master distiller Brendan McCarron. “But, we understand that not everyone is able to make the trip. With this annual Cask Strength 12 Year Old release, we can give people around the world the chance to experience it themselves.”

In August, Distell reported a 26.3% sales increase in its fiscal full-year, bolstered by a near-one-third leap in its home market of South Africa.
