Diageo is lining up the launch in the US of an RTD extension of Ketel One Botanical, the lower-abv flavoured range from the Ketel One vodka brand.

Ketel One Botanical Vodka Spritz is made with vodka blended with botanicals, natural fruits, and sparkling water. The range, which will be released in time for the weekend before Labor Day on 7 September, will be available across Arizona, California, Nevada, Texas, Florida, New Jersey, Ohio, Washington and Illinois.

Released in the same flavours as Ketel One Botanical, which launched in 2018, the three-strong line comprises Peach & Orange Blossom, Cucumber & Mint and Grapefruit & Rose. The vodka spritz RTD is sugar- and carb-free, contains 73 calories per serving and is free from artificial flavours or sweeteners.

“We created Ketel One Botanical to appeal to the conscious consumer,” said distiller Carl Nolet Jr. “Honouring our family’s legacy of ‘quality over everything’ while responding to a strong need for convenience, we are thrilled to launch our Ketel One Botanical Vodka Spritz.”

Last year, Diageo expanded the footprint of Ketel One Botanical to the UK. Diageo runs Ketel One through a joint-venture with brand owner the Nolet family. The partnership, dating back to 2008, came into being as Absolut vodka brand owner Vin & Sprit was put up for sale by the Swedish Government. Pernod Ricard emerged victorious as Diageo withdrew from the race to concentrate on Ketel One.
