Cuervo has relaunched the Diamond Peak expression from American whiskey brand Stranahan's in the US. The 45%-abv single malt, which rolls out nationwide this month, will be available in an annual bottling. The 2022 version comprises whiskey that has been produced using barley grown in the Rocky Mountains and has been matured for between two and seven years in new American oak barrels. The liquid has then spent a further four years in barrels previously used by Cuervo's Irish whiskey distiller, Bushmills. Available in limited - albeit unspecified - numbers, Diamond Creek 2022 carries an SRP of US$79.99 from selected off-premise outlets in the market. Consumers can also go online at Drizly or Reserve Bar to purchase a 75cl bottle. Cuervo took ownership of Bushmills through a brand swap with Diageo, with Don Julio Tequila heading in the other direction, back in 2014. Two months ago, the Mexico-headquartered group posted a 12.5% year-on-year sales lift from 2021.
