BevCanna is expanding the global footprint of its recently-inherited Trace plant-based beverage brand with a move into Asia-Pacific.

The Canadian cannabis beverage producer said earlier this week that Trace will soon be available in China, Japan and the Philippines. The move comes four months after BevCanna acquired Trace brand owner Naturo Group for a reported CAD20m (US$15.7m).

“The Asian market is a natural fit for our Trace line of plant-based and alkaline products,” said BevCanna’s president, Melise Panetta. “Our portfolio of products will address a growing demand for nutraceuticals and wellness-focused natural products, and we’re pleased to announce our anticipated expansion into these significant markets.”

According to the company, Trace’s portfolio, which included still and sparkling alkaline spring waters, all contain minerals that offer multiple health benefits including improved cognitive performance, digestion and immune system support.

Last month, Constellations Brands and Canopy Growth expanded the North American distribution footprint of their Quatreau CBD beverage brand to the US.
