New World wine countries are close to signing a deal that will liberalise trade between their wine producers by removing artificial barriers and costs to exports. A first group of countries, which includes Australia, the US, Canada and New Zealand have agreed to accept differences in winemaking techniques thus ensuring they do not become a barrier to trade in wine.
