The US’s consumer industry registered an 11.7% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 11.04% in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.
Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.45% share in November 2022, recording a decrease of 0.46% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.1% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s consumer industry in November 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 34.94% in November 2022, registering a 42.13% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 23.54% share, a decrease of 34.02% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 20.76%, registering a 24.87% decline from October 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 10.67%, down 38.14% over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 1.36% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s consumer industry during November 2022 over October 2022.
J. R. Simplot posted 62 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a drop of 16.22% over the previous month, followed by Nestle with 47 jobs and a 370% growth. Carrier Global with 46 IT jobs and Petco Health and WellnessInc with 43 jobs, recorded a 17.86% decline and a 10.42% decrease, respectively, while Rich Products recorded a decline of 21.88% with 25 job postings during November 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 57.16%, down by 40.21% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 21.93% share, registered a decline of 24.24% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 18.57% share, down 38.05% over October 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.34%, recording a month-on-month decline of 30.43%.
