Mexico’s consumer industry registered a 7.9% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 3.56% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.
Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.63% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 0.19% over the last three-month average share.

By GlobalData1) Computer and Information Analysts recorded a share of 37.33% in August 2022, registering a 12% growth over the previous month.
2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 26.67% share, a decrease of 41.18% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 16%, registering a 25% decline from July 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 14.67%, up 83.33% over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in Mexico’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 11.43% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s consumer industry during August 2022 over July 2022.
Fomento Economico Mexicano SAB de CV posted 22 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a rise of 4.76% over the previous month, followed by Nestle with 16 jobs and a 38.46% drop. Anheuser-Busch InBev with 11 IT jobs and PepsiCo with 7 jobs, recorded a 15.38% decline and a 16.67% growth, respectively, while Diageo recorded an increase of 50% with 6 job postings during August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 77.33%, down by 12.12% from July 2022. Entry Level positions with a 12% share, registered an increase of 12.5% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 10.67% share, down 42.86% over July 2022.
