Europe witnessed a 17.2% drop in IT hiring activity in the drinks industry in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

October 2022 has seen a decrease of 9.15% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 3.4% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2022, registering a decrease of 0.38% over the last three-month average share.

Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations leads by classification in October 2022

Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 40.35% in October 2022, a 43.9% drop over the previous month. Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers came in next, claiming a share of 29.82% in October 2022, marking a 52.78% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 17.54% in October 2022, a 58.33% drop from September 2022.

Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 8.77% in October 2022, a 66.67% decline over the previous month.

Top five drinks companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 49.43% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s drinks industry during October 2022 over previous month.

Coca-Cola posted 12 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered an increase of 140% over the previous month, followed by PepsiCo with 10 jobs and a 42.86% growth. Carlsberg with 9 IT jobs and Nestle with 7 jobs, recorded a 55% drop and an 85.42% drop, respectively, while Coca-Cola Europacific Partners recorded a 14.29% decline with 6 job postings during October 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s drinks industry

Poland commanded a leading presence in the region’s drinks industry IT hiring activity with a 24.56% share in October 2022, a 17.65% decrease over September 2022. Bulgaria featured next with a 19.3% share, up 450% over the previous month. The UK recorded a 12.28% share, a drop of 66.67% compared with September 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.91%, down by 52.56% from September 2022. Entry Level positions with a 19.3% share, registered a decline of 57.69% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 15.79% share, down 35.71% over September 2022.
