Europe witnessed a 13.9% drop in IT hiring activity in the consumer industry in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
November 2022 has seen a decrease of 7.95% in the overall hiring activity when compared with October 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 3.32% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2022, registering a decrease of 0.41% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 33.33% in November 2022, a 20.11% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 27.74% in November 2022, marking a 25.63% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 17.25% in November 2022, an 18.68% drop from October 2022.
Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 17.25% in November 2022, a 43.94% decline over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 4.72% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s consumer industry during November 2022 over previous month.
Cherkizovo Group posted 24 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered an increase of 33.33% over the previous month, followed by Unibel with 24 jobs and a 20% drop. Ferrero International with 20 IT jobs and Reckitt Benckiser Group with 17 jobs, recorded an 81.82% rise and a 5.56% drop, respectively, while Body Shop International recorded a 44.83% decline with 16 job postings during November 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s consumer industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 19.81% share in November 2022, a 26.09% decrease over October 2022. France featured next with a 13.99% share, down 47.37% over the previous month. Germany recorded a 13.99% share, a drop of 31.03% compared with October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.13%, down by 20.9% from October 2022. Entry Level positions with a 14.22% share, registered a decline of 40.2% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with an 11.66% share, down 35.9% over October 2022.
