Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 44.47% in September 2022, a 38.71% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 18.51% in September 2022, marking a 6.45% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 17.02% in September 2022, a 35.48% drop from August 2022.

By GlobalDataMiscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 15.32% in September 2022, an 18.18% decline over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 18.99% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s consumer industry during September 2022 over previous month.
Haier Group posted 79 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered an increase of 2.6% over the previous month, followed by Charoen Pokphand Foods Public with 64 jobs and a 12.28% growth. Panasonic with 35 IT jobs and Coca-Cola Europacific Partners with 18 jobs, recorded a 9.38% rise and a 1700% rise, respectively, while Carlsberg recorded a 41.67% increase with 17 job postings during September 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s consumer industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 48.94% share in September 2022, a 29.01% decrease over August 2022. China featured next with a 20.43% share, down 55.14% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 7.45% share, a growth of 40% compared with August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 75.96%, down by 27.73% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 17.02% share, registered a decline of 31.03% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.17% share, down 52.46% over August 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.64%, recording a month-on-month decline of 40%.
