Asia-Pacific witnessed a 15.5% drop in IT hiring activity in the consumer industry in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
November 2022 has seen a decrease of 13.54% in the overall hiring activity when compared with October 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 4.58% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2022, registering a decrease of 0.67% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 35.59% in November 2022, a 53.85% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 23.73% in November 2022, marking a 42.27% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 20.76% in November 2022, a 49.48% drop from October 2022.
Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 18.22% in November 2022, a 42.67% decline over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 83.05% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s consumer industry during November 2022 over previous month.
PepsiCo posted 53 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered an increase of 76.67% over the previous month, followed by Unilever with 15 jobs and a 25% growth. General Mills with 14 IT jobs and Nestle with 14 jobs, recorded a 250% rise and a 1300% rise, respectively, while Reckitt Benckiser Group recorded a flat growth with 12 job postings during November 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s consumer industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 53.81% share in November 2022, a 47.3% decrease over October 2022. Australia featured next with an 8.47% share, down 16.67% over the previous month. Malaysia recorded a 5.93% share, a growth of 55.56% compared with October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 55.93%, down by 60.36% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 33.05% share, registered a decline of 20.41% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.17% share, down 33.33% over October 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.85%, recording a month-on-month decline of 33.33%.
