The proportion of drinks manufacturing and supply companies hiring for cloud-related positions increased markedly in the month of August compared to the same period a year earlier, according to recent research.
An analysis conducted by GlobalData found that 63.3% of the beverage companies included in the company’s research set recruited for at least one position in this area. In August 2020, the proportion was 52%.
On a month-to-month basis, the rate was flat compared to July.
Of the total number of positions advertised by beverage companies in August, 1.6% were cloud-related, up from 1% in the same month in 2020.
The company's analysis of the data shows that drinks manufacturing and supply companies are currently hiring for cloud-related jobs at a lower rate than the average for all companies within GlobalData's job analytics database, which in August stood at 5.1%.
Cloud is one of the topics identified by GlobalData as a key disruptive force facing companies in the coming years. Companies that invest in these areas now are expected to be better prepared for the future business landscape and better equipped to survive unforeseen challenges.
