Amatil said that it expected annual net profit before significant items from ongoing operations to grow by “by at least 15%” from A$171.1m in 2001. The company had previously said it anticipated profit growth at the upper end of the 10% to 15% range.
The company said that contrary to belief Australian prices for its products had improved. It was also positive about sales in South Korean and Oceania while sales in Indonesia, although well down in recent months, were above expectations.
It said Vanilla Coke had been well received in Australia and New Zealand, the first markets outside North America to get the product. Actual Vanilla Coke volumes were not released.
