PepsiCo will report its first-half results on Thursday. Here, just-drinks takes a look at the group's highs and lows in beverages for the three months to the end of June:
- In April, the company started production at its largest beverage plant in India after company CEO Indra Nooyi inaugurated the site.
- In the same month, PepsiCo replaced The Coca-Cola Co as the exclusive beverage partner of the NBA in the US.
- At the end of April, PepsiCo announced its first global campaign for the Pepsi Max brand.
- In May, the company launched a new Pepsi flavour in the US that targets Hispanics. Pepsi Limon is made with cane sugar and lime juice and claims to "captures the tart, refreshing taste that Hispanics love to enjoy with their meals and in their beverages".
- CEO Nooyi was the only woman from the beverage industry to make the Forbes World's 100 Most Powerful Women list, released at the end of May. In a directory topped by German chancellor Angela Merkel, Nooyi came in at number 15.
- In June, PepsiCo said it was to launch Stubborn Soda, a new range of "craft" sodas, into the US foodservice channel as it ups its focus on smaller-scale brands.
- A few days later, the company agreed a three-year sponsorship deal with the UEFA Champions League.
