The Wine Group has put its Imagery Estate Winery property in California, on the market, although the US group plans to keep the associated brand.
The US wine producer told Just Drinks it has “not run production operations at the estate for a couple of years, so a substantial portion of the property has been idle for some time”.

The estate in Glen Ellen in Sonoma County was acquired alongside Benziger Family Winery in 2015 and covers around 19.6 acres.
Around 3.8 net acres are planted, with 2.6 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and 1.3 acres of Malbec.
Existing infrastructure on the site includes a production facility with barrel cellars and a crush/tank pad.
The winery is permitted to produce up to 180,000 cases annually and has 250,000 gallons of jacketed tank storage.

By GlobalDataThe Wine Group intends to keep the Imagery wine label, calling it a “key brand” in its portfolio, which includes Franzia, Cupcake Vineyards, and Chloe Wine Collection.
The company said: “Should the Imagery estate be sold, TWG will explore a potential leaseback of the current Imagery tasting room from a future estate owner, or co-locate Imagery’s direct-to-consumer sales at our Benziger estate nearby in Glen Ellen.”
The Wine Group declined to provide further details on the sale process.
In November, the company sold its Simi wine brand, founded in 1876 and also based in Sonoma County, to fellow US wine business WarRoom Cellars.
At the time, The Wine Group CEO John Sutton said the disposal “supports The Wine Group’s continuous focus on aligning our portfolio to current and long-term goals”.
In April, The Wine Group acquired a number of wine brands from US rival Constellation Brands.
The deal included six labels, among them Woodbridge, Meiomi and Cook’s. Nearly four years earlier, Constellation had transferred several other brands – Cooper & Thief, 7 Moons and The Dreaming Tree – to The Wine Group.
In November 2024, US producers Lemmons Family Vineyards and Darcie Kent Winery acquired local winery Concannon Vineyard from The Wine Group for an undisclosed sum.
