BrewDog has revealed it has axed several jobs throughout the company as part of an internal review.

Employees were informed about the job cuts in an internal memo from the CEO James Taylor last week.

The note sent to staff by Taylor said the cuts impacted “a number of roles across several departments”.

He told staff: “As many of you know, we’re operating in a tough and fast-changing market and in order to set BrewDog up for long-term success, we’ve taken time to review our structure and ensure we’re focusing our energy and investment in the right areas.

“As a result, we’ve made the difficult decision to right-size parts of the business.”

The company has declined to comment further on the news.

In its results for the full-year ended 31 December 2024, the Hazy Jane brewer booked a pre-tax loss of £36.6m ($49.1m) compared to £59.2m the year prior.

Turnover was flat, growing almost 1% in the year to £357m.

In the internal note, Taylor added: “We know change can feel unsettling, and we don’t take these decisions lightly. But we are confident that the steps we’re taking now will help us operate more simply, stay focused, and drive the business forward.”

He also said that the group’s fourth quarter “will be a critical quarter for us – and we have a strong, focused commercial plan in place to deliver against our goals.

“We know there’s still work to do, but we’re approaching the final part of the year with focus and determination.”

Last week, the business also announced the sale of its Kinrara Estate to natural capital asset manager Oxygen Conservation, after the brewing giant bought the site five years ago.

BrewDog co-founder Martin Dickie also announced that he was stepping away from the company in August.

In July, BrewDog also announced the closure of ten of its bars across the UK, as it faces “continued challenges” in the local hospitality sector.
