Maison Ferrand has selected importer La Maison du Whisky’s Asia-Pacific business to distribute its portfolio in Singapore.
According to a statement from La Maison du Whisky, the arrangement will come into effect on 14 August and will see the distributor and importer assume responsibility for Maison Ferrand’s flagship brands Planteray Rum, Citadelle Gin, and Ferrand Cognac.
The division is taking over from Proof & Company, which entered its Singapore distribution operations into “provisional liquidation” last month.
At the time, the Proof & Company said in a statement that there were “significant market challenges in China, an extended downturn in Australia, and a recent acceleration in bar and restaurant closures in Singapore have all impacted the company’s distribution operations.”
In a statement, La Maison du Whisky said: “This transition builds on a long-standing relationship: LMDW has represented Maison Ferrand in France for years, and now extends that collaboration to Singapore.”
Maison Ferrand products will be available online through the Whisky.SG website, LMDW’s flagship bar and shops on Robertson Quay, and select hospitality and retail partners.

By GlobalDataManaging director of La Maison du Whisky’s APAC unit, Diego Araud said: “Our collaboration with Maison Ferrand began in Paris, so extending that partnership to Singapore is a natural step.
“We share the same belief in championing spirits through knowledge, advocacy, and authenticity – values that resonate strongly with the region’s bar community.”
Maylis Berger, APAC Manager of Maison Ferrand said: “We are thrilled to begin this new chapter with La Maison du Whisky as our official distributor in Singapore.”
He added: “Their deep understanding of the market and commitment to craft make them the ideal partner to grow our brands in the region. Exciting times ahead.”
When announcing the closure of its Singapore distribution arm last month, Proof & Company told Just Drinks it had also Widges gin, Michters whisky and Chartreuse liqueur in the country.
Sixteen jobs were expected to be impacted by the move, the group said at the time.
