Brauerei C. & A. Veltins has announced changes to the German brewer’s senior team, which are set to take place by the end of the year.
Dr. Volker Kuhl, the managing director of sales and marketing at Veltins, had been lined up to take on the “overall responsibility for the management of the brewery” from Michael Huber.
However, Kuhl will now also assume the functions held by Susanne Veltins, the great-great-granddaughter of the privately owned brewer’s founder and the company’s sole shareholder.
Ms Veltins, 64, is stepping down from the brewer’s management board by the end of the year.
“Susanne Veltins is responsible for the overall coordination of the business units. Dr. Volker Kuhl, who has been with the company for over 30 years, will take over these responsibilites by the end of 2024,” the brewer told Just Drinks. “Dr. Volker Kuhl will then be the most senior executive in charge of Veltins.” Kuhl’s job title has yet to be finalised.
Brauerei C. & A. Veltins generated a turnover of €441m ($469.6m) in 2023. The brewer produced 3.26 million hectolitres of drinks.
