The proportion of drinks manufacturers hiring for positions related to machine learning rose in August year-on-year, data shows.

Some 31.6% of the companies monitored by GlobalData, Just Drinks‘ parent, were recruiting for at least one such role last month, up from the 27.3% of businesses hiring for machine learning-related jobs a year ago.

Machine learning is one of the topics that GlobalData has identified as being a key disruptive force facing companies in the coming years. Companies that excel and invest in these areas now are thought to be better prepared for the future business landscape and better equipped to survive unforeseen challenges.

GlobalData's figures show that drinks manufacturing companies are hiring for machine-learning jobs at a rate higher than the average for all companies within the group's job analytics database. The average among all companies stood at 1% in August.
