China’s consumer industry registered a 1.1% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 2.24% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.
Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.27% share in July 2022, recording a flat growth over the last three-month average share.

By GlobalData1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 56.99% in July 2022, registering a 6% growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 24.73% share, an increase of 9.52% over the previous month.
3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 8.6%, registering an 11.11% decline from June 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 5.38%, up 25% over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 20.59% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s consumer industry during July 2022 over June 2022.
Haier Group posted 60 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a rise of 3.45% over the previous month, followed by Shanghai Jahwa United with 10 jobs and a flat growth. Gree Electric Appliancesof Zhuhai with 5 IT jobs and Lego with 4 jobs, recorded a 400% growth and a 20% decrease, respectively, while Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group recorded a decline of 25% with 3 job postings during July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 78.49%, up by 4.29% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 17.2% share, registered an increase of 6.67% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 4.3% share, down 20% over June 2022.
