Walsh Whiskey is adding a new expression to the core range of its Writers Tears’ Irish whiskey brand.
Writers Tears’ Single Pot Still Whiskey has spent an unspecified period of time in ex-Bourbon barrels, ex-Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks and ex- Florio Marsala wine barrels. The expression, which is initially limited to 5,800 bottles, will launch across selected off-premise outlets in Ireland, the UK, France, Germany and The Netherlands next month.

Walsh Whiskey confirmed the offering will expand to the US when more units become available next year.
“I am very proud of this whiskey, our first single pot still expression,” said co-founder Bernard Walsh. “It’s exciting to bring a new core whiskey to the Writers’ Tears family that will become available to more and more of our followers in over 50 countries worldwide over time.”
In June, the company released its 11th ‘cask strength’ iteration of Writers’ Tears.
