French group Remy Cointreau has confirmed to just-drinks reports that it has granted Russian group Cristall exclusive distribution rights to its Bols brand vodka throughout the Russian Federation.

The Russian Federation’s vodka market is the biggest in the world with an estimated value of around one billion pounds sterling annually .

Bols Vodka is currently available as a clear vodka and in four flavour variants: Lemon Ice, Forrest Fruits, Mandarin and Peach.

Remy Cointreau acquired the Amsterdam-based Bols Distelleries in 2001.

Earlier this year, the group said it was aiming to launch Bols into the world’s top-15 spirits brands by 2006 and would invest €25m a year on brand building.
