The Chilean winery, Concha y Toro, has retained its position as the country’s top wine exporter, registering wine exports worth US$41.1m in the first five months of 2003, 17% up on the corresponding period last year.

In volume terms, Concha y Toro’s exports increased by 9% to 2.1m cases.

Chile’s second largest wine exporter in the first five months of 2003 was Vina San Pedro, part of CCU, which recorded exports of US$17.4m, down 17% from US$21.2m in the corresponding period in 2002. In volume terms, Vina San Pedro fell by 15% to 1m cases.
