The US-Australian wine group, Constellation Wines, has announced that it has acquired the Irish drinks distributor, Allied Drinks. With offices in Cork and Dublin, Allied has represented BRL Hardy in Ireland for ten years. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

“Our purchase of Allied is part of a strategy that enables us to further our aim of controlling our route to market,” said Constellation’s CEO, Stephen Millar.

Redmond Gavin has been appointed as general manager at the Irish company which will continue to trade as Allied Drinks.

“I am delighted that Constellation Wines has purchased Allied Drinks” said Allied’s founder, Ken Daunt. “They have a strong portfolio of brands with excellent growth potential and they can provide us with additional support which will be significant in realising both mine and the company’s long term objectives.”

Constellation Wines incorporates Australian wine group BRL Hardy following the acquisition of the latter by Constellation Brands.
