Western Australia is to receive a welcome boost for its exports. The Western Australia Wine Industry Association has announced its intention to launch an international campaign to increase the amount of wine the state exports.
The association’s president, John Griffiths, told ABC News that it is working closely with the state government to locate and secure international markets for Western Australia’s wine.
The area will be represented at some of the main international wine events in Europe and the US next year. This follows some recent successes following trade missions to Japan and Saudi Arabia.
According to ABC, Griffiths said that Western Australia currently exports less than 13% of its blends, while more than 50% of Australia’s wine is exported.
