SA Cottin Freres has acquired fellow Burgundy trader-producer, Nicolas Potel, through its subsidiary, Laboure-Roi.
Set up in 1996 by Nicolas Potel, the company has an annual turnover of €5m generated from Burgundy red grands crus such as volnay, pommard, charmes-chambertin, echezeaux, clos-de-vougeot, clos-de-de-la-roche and nuits-saint-georges.
Both Laboure-Roi and Nicolas Potel will retain their identity and brands.
Cottin Freres said the aim of the takeover was to provide a young dynamic company with the backing to develop its business In return, Cottin Freres would benefit from Nicolas Potel’s wine-making qualities.
