Coca-Cola is reportedly weighing up the future of Costa and industry watchers believe now might be the time for the soft-drinks giant to wake up and smell the coffee.
The activist investor, which manages funds with a $4bn stake in PepsiCo, said the US food and drinks giant is at “a critical inflection point”.
Referring to the Hispanic population, CEO Bill Newlands said: "We have the strongest loyalty within that marketplace for our brands."
The decision comes after what Flow described as an “exhaustive strategic review” led by a special committee of independent directors.
Michael Sloan, currently the company's CFO, will succeed Bryan Donaghey, who is set to retire at the end of 2025.
The Modelo brewer pointed to “volatile consumer purchasing behaviour”.
