The proportion of drinks manufacturers hiring for cloud-related positions dropped in June year-on-year, according to analysis of job trends in the industry.
Some 52.9% of the companies monitored by GlobalData were recruiting for at least one such position last month. That is lower than the 60% of manufacturers hiring in the field a year ago and a decrease compared to the figure of 64.7% in May 2022.
When it came to the rate of all job openings, 2% were postings linked to the cloud in May. In May 2021, that figure stood at 1.9%.
The cloud is one of the topics GlobalData, Just Drinks’ parent company, has identified as being a disruptive force facing business in the coming years. Companies that excel and invest in these areas now are thought to be better prepared for the future business landscape and better equipped to survive unforeseen challenges.
GlobalData says its analysis suggests food manufacturers are hiring for AI jobs at a rate lower than the average for all companies within the research group’s jobs analytics database. The average among all companies stood at 6.3% in June.
