US: US backs voluntary code on geographical denominations
The United States has put its backing behind a voluntary system to control the unauthorised use of geographical denominations for wines and spirits. But while it has backed the voluntary system, also being supported by 16 other WTO members, the US remains opposed to major changes to current world trade rules covering geographic locations, being proposed by the EU.
